Consciousness (That Annoying Time Between Naps)
While it’s unclear just how many American children are sleep-deprived, it’s a scientific fact that 100% of medical students need more sleep. We can stave off sleep with caffeine and full bladders (a little trick I learned in the Navy), but eventually it will catch up with us – we just pray we’re already sitting down when it happens.
This has been a busy week, and I just took the second to last exam of the year. In honor of being nearly done with the lecture predominant portion of my medical education, I’ve taken the liberty of modifying a slide to convey my feelings about these past two years:
